[edit] Background Information
On the 10th of February, Wisconsin Anonymous staged a protest against the Scientology Mission of Milwaukee. Our numbers made a huge impression, especially given the weather. For further information about the 02/10 protest, click here.
Wisconsin's dedication to the cause and willingness to stand up for what is right has caught the attention of Anonymous. This is not just a claim, this is a fact. Therefore, Wisconsin will be expected to be at the forefront of Anonymous' next project...
Anonymous is planning a special Birthday Party for the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. As the name implies, this will be a party, NOT A PROTEST. That said, excessive PROTESTING IS ENCOURAGED. Anonymous knows that some of you WIfags were intimidated by the Co$ weather machine's negative forty degree wind chill at our previous protest, and did not show up. This is completely acceptable to Anonymous. The WIfags who showed up were fucking nuts.
Anyway...
This time around, we will be eating DELICIOUS CAKE! That's right, bring some sort of cake if you feel motivated. Some say the cake is a lie, but this is entirely up to individual Anonymous.
We will also be wearing party hats. This is a requirement, because this is a motherfucking birthday party. If you fail to wear a party hat, everyone will make fun of you because you lost the fucking game. Anonymous encourages all participants to avoid this ridicule. Just wear a fucking party hat.
Here's the address:
6806 W Wedgewood Dr. Milwaukee, WI 53220
Ok then, here's some predictable crap for you to look at:
[edit] Schedule of Events
- 10:00 - 10:59: Park your vehicle or get off the bus. To those driving, Anonymous encourages parking several blocks from the protest site. If you must park nearby, stop a block away and remove your license plate. A ticket is much more manageable than the OSA. Once you park, don't just stand around. Walk to the site of our party, dumbass.
- This time around, there will be no official meeting beforehand. Asshole bikers at George Webb's must be avoided at all costs.
- Individual groups, feel free to meet prior to the party at your own discretion.
- 11:00AM - 2:59PM: Get the party started and always PARTY HARD!!! Run around in circles, be loud, dance, eat cake (lie), hand out fliers, display signs and posters. Get to know your fellow Anon, to a certain extent. Although this was and still is officially discouraged, socializing WILL establish bonds with your fellow Anon. This has been witnessed in various metropolitan areas throughout the globe (see Dallas, kthnx). The rules of the tubes apply: use your own discretion as to what information you divulge to your fellow partiers!
- 3:00PM - Whenever: Whatever. Those who stay until the end of our party are encouraged to leave in a group. The OSA is no joke, so protect yourselves. Anonymous is legion. Our strength is in numbers, as is our safety.
[edit] Rules
- No weapons.
- This includes any weapons including firearms, blades, tazers, etc. Avoid using large wooden or metal handles for picket signs. Form board works just fine, even in the wind.
- No drugs or alcohol.
- This includes getting stoned or having a few drinks beforehand. Not that Anonymous cares how you get messed up... but being in such a state may affect your performance as a respectable human being.
- Masks are encouraged. If you are unable to acquire a mask, wear a scarf or bandanna.
- Keep on the public sidewalk.
- Keep moving at all times.
- Do not block an entrance or exit of a building.
- Anonymous encourages individuals to bring megaphones. That said, only 1-2 megaphones should be utilized at any given time for organization and message propagation.
[edit] Important Information
As with our last protest, Milwaukee Police Department District 6 will be contacted and given details. Expect a police presence.
- This time around, we will be on the sidewalk in front of the plaza in which the Scientology Mission is located. Depending upon numbers, this may well spread to the median and opposite side of the street. Seriously, bring your friends. This is a guaranteed good time :D

[edit] ACLU Demonstration Guide
- Guide to Demonstrations READ IT, KNOW IT.
First Amendment Activity And Potential Consequences
You have a constitutionally protected right to express your views in public spaces. This includes sidewalks, parks, as well as other locations that the government has opened up to similar speech activities, such as the plazas in front of government buildings. Because these and other activities are constitutionally protected, there is little risk of arrest when holding signs, leafleting, marching (or standing still) and chanting, drumming, singing or dancing when demonstrating.
Some activities are illegal, and you can be arrested for them. Since Police Officers usually warn demonstrators to stop if they believe that the demonstrators are engaging in illegal activities, demonstrators will sometimes participate in activities that may subject them to arrest without being arrested. There is some risk of arrest nonetheless. Other demonstrators engage in peaceful but unlawful activities to be arrested as a form of protest called “civil disobedience.” A short list of activities engaged in at demonstrations is provided below. Other activities seen at demonstrations that may be illegal include: Resisting arrest or obstructing an officer, fastening signs (other than to bulletin boards generally open for posting information), littering, or using excessive noise.
Protected Activities
- Leafleting
- Holding signs
- Drumming, dancing, singing, chanting
- Marching
- Standing still in a group
- Approaching pedestrians on a public sidewalk with leaflets, newspapers, petitions, and solicitations for donations
- Setting up tables on public sidewalks for these purposes, so long as the walk is not blocked
- Wearing a mask or concealing your face (See Illegal Activities Below!)
Illegal Activities
- Entering a person’s yard
- Inciting a crowd to imminent violence or illegal activity
- Harassing or accosting passers-by
- Blocking pedestrian right of way
- Blocking street traffic
- Entering posted private property
- Entering or remaining on other property after being informed that you are not welcome
- Violence against any person
- Destruction of property
- However, wearing a mask or concealing your identity, while engaging in unlawful activity, can act as a penalty enhancer
If you are an immigrant, you still have the right to protest. However, Immigration officials can target non-citizens for deportation because of their First Amendment activities, as long as it could deport them for other reasons. If you are an immigrant and are targeted by law enforcement, you should assert your rights. It is also a good idea to carry the name of an immigration lawyer who will take your calls - and talk to the lawyer before talking to law enforcement or signing any papers.
What to Do if You Are Stopped by the Police
Remain calm.
You are not required to talk to the police, unless a judge orders you to. If you don’t want to talk or answer questions, ask “Am I under arrest or free to go?” If you are not being detained, you may go. Walk (don’t run) away calmly. If you are not released, do not fight or try to run away. (You may be sentenced to jail for resisting a lawful arrest (physically or verbally) or obstructing an officer in the performance of her duties, including when arresting you or another protester).
Make note of and remember the officer’s badge number and name, as well as the contact info of any witnesses.
Do not consent to being patted down or searched. The police can pat you down to check for the presence of a concealed weapon. Say, “I do not consent to being searched.” You don’t have change your mind or give in, but don’t resist physically or attempt to run away.
What to Do if You Are Arrested
The most important thing to remember: If you are arrested, you should provide the officer with your name and address, and then you should state, “I choose to remain silent. I want to speak to an attorney.”
If you say this, the police should stop trying to question you. You do not need to already have an attorney to request one. Do not believe the police officer if he/she tells you anything to the contrary. You are entitled to remain silent and to consult with an attorney. You do not have to answer the police officer’s questions, other than your name and address.
Always remember: Anything you say will be used against you and against others. Do not try to “educate” the officer or “explain” your situation.
