This page is about the books project, we want to create 3-4 books with different sizes that document the Church of Scientology, these books can then be freely distributed. The book with the smallest amount of pages can be distributed at IRL raids.

[edit] What Needs To Be Done

Our priorities:

Work on the Short Introduction book first.

  • 1. Submit suggestions for topics for the book.
  • 2. Arrange the chosen topics.
  • 3. Add resources on this page.
  • 4. Copypasta text from our resources.
  • 5. Rewrite the text.
  • 6. Create the artwork.
  • 7. Create a layout for the PDF file and maybe HTML.
  • 8. Create the files and ZIP.
  • 9. Distribute and advertise.
  • 10. ???

List general information about the books here, what they should discuss and their size for example.

This should be very short, I'm thinking about 10-20 pages.

Requirements:

  • Size should be 10-20 pages.
  • Should discuss the bigger issues and the important things on the bizarre history and religion.
  • Remember, we are NOT going against their actual beliefs, as odd as they may be. We're going against their corrupted practices, etc.

  • steal this noun has been done to often

"Scientology: Serious Business"

  • this is both lulzy for anon, and gets the message across to non-anons (ie, CoS being for profit)

[edit] Artwork & Layout

We need artwork to be used. We need covers for the books, a special Anonymous Books logo, illustrations on topics touched upon in the book. Make sure to include a .psd or .xcf work file that allows for the editing/translating of text and cultural things.
I'm a fine artist with some GIMP skillz, too. Please send me suggestions... ChopTop
We need a person that has skills with Desktop Publishing software (list[1]) that can create a design for the PDF files.

    • Scribus[2] is an open-source and multi-platform DTP prog.
  • Make the graphic an erupting volcano? or how about something similar to this ? [3]
  • A suggestion for the 'Anonymous Books' logo. I'm no photoshop pro, but someone else could probably improve it. The tagline 'knowledge is free' seems like a good thing to put under it. [4]
  • A different 'Anonymous Books' logo, in response to the above. [5]
  • A simple cover concept (@150 DPI, so it looks huge) [6]

I suggest using a Creative Commons that allows for everything to be done with the books. The Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommerical 3.0 (Unported) license seems to be ideal.

Every book needs the following files:

  • readme.txt (important and additional info)
  • cover.jpg (the cover of the book, this should be a large photo)
  • <bookName>.pdf (the book in PDF format)
  • <bookName>_noCover.pdf (the book without a cover in PDF format, this could be useful in IRL raids)
  • <bookName>.html (the book in HTML format)
  • <bookName>_noChapters.html (the book in HTML without any chapters, so in 1 big file)
  • <bookName>.txt (the book in TXT format)

[edit] ZIPs

This should be zipped into a ZIP file. Then we can create the following files:

  • Anonymous_Books_All_Books.zip (this should include all the books and every file listed above)
  • Anonymous_Books_PDF_Books.zip (this should include the PDF books with covers)
  • A_short_introduction_into_the_Church_of_Scientology.zip (the book in a ZIP file)
  • What_is_the_Church_of_Scientology.zip (the book in a ZIP file)
  • All_you_need_to_know_about_Scientology.zip (the book in a ZIP file)
  • A_deep_look_into_the_Church_of_Scientology.zip (the book in a ZIP file)
