Project Chanology
From Insurgency Wiki
Anonymous vs Scientology
Project Chanology is a large scale plan to bring down the Church of Scientology in its present form. On January 16, 2008; Anonymous decided to spread the message that Scientology is a dangerous and suppressive cult. We are doing this for the ex-Scientologists who dare not speak up in fear of the cult, for the innocent members who are defrauded out of their savings and broken down mentally, for those who have lost a relative or friend to the cult and for those who have already lost their lives.
- For breaking news, and to access details on the rest of the project, see Project Chanology/Portal.
- To discuss the project use the talk page. More subpages can be found here

Rise the fuck up and stay up. Let 'em know we'll take the fight to them, and that we'll help every single person that wants to leave the cult. We have lawyers and social workers and therapists in our ranks, and we can, and will, give aid to those who want out. We are Anonymous. For the lulz, but moar than that now. For teh most epic win. Revoke Scientology's tax-exempt status. Great Justice for Lisa McPherson. | „ |

FAQ
If you're a member of the press and wish to research us, Project Chanology/Anti-Manifesto is a good place to start.

Response to Co$
The Co$ has released a few statements ignoring our criticisms (as per LRH's commands - "always attack, don't defend") attacking Anonymous' actions. As expected, these were full of outright lies.
Responses to these are at Project Chanology/Response.
The Co$ has also started making up bullshit to smear Anonymous with, as well as coming up with the brilliant idea to try to make it seem like we're declaring war on gangs or something, which is utter fail. (Please insert Youtube video ref here, I can't find it on the website)
Documentation of this is at Project Chanology/CoS Black Propaganda.
Origins
There are none, branched forth from *chans in times of need against CoS.
Tom Cruise Video
History
After a video interview with Tom Cruise got leaked onto YouTube, the Church of Scientology got butthurt and had the video removed. This prompted the internet at large to man the harpoons and begin an epic battle against the CoS to rid the planet of said scourge. In addition, some media attention was returning to the issue because of the release of Tom Cruise: The Unofficial Biography which has chapters of Scientology bashing. Anonymous looked at the past of Scientology with the censoring of free speech, a direct clash with our Anonymous principles of absolute free speech, and the lulz gathered from them even being talked to casually, and finally the insane murders and such that they executed, a sign of them taking the world as too much serious fucking business. Shame, looks like they just have to go.
But actually the battle between Anonymous and CoS is at least 100 years old. Back in the days when pr0n was posted to Usenet via the anon.penet.fi remailer, the Xenu story appeared, CoS became angry and butthurt anon.penet.fi and a couple of Usenet operators. Much drama ensued. This battle is epic. Anonymous does not forgive. Anonymous does not forget.
Goals
Message to Scientology
- Save people from Scientology by reversing the brainwashing and help Scientologists realize that the Church of Scientology in its current state is a vast money-making scheme under the guise of religion. Everyone has the right to freedom of religion, but religion should be free.
- Gain experience of performing operations on a global scale for future lulz.
- Alert the public to our presence and recruit active participants (for destroying CoS, not necessarily to become Anon).
- Lulz.
- Great justice.
- More lulz.
- Destroying a cult = lulz
- Destroying a business = lulz
- Destroying both at once = double lulz
- Force Dave Miscavige and Tom Cruise to buy curtains, a phone recorder, and a dog.
- And even more lulz.

- ARTICLE 19. Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
- The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, in Paris.~
- 92. Freedom of opinion, expression and information, recognized as an integral aspect of human rights and fundamental freedoms, is a vital factor in the strengthening of peace and international understanding. It is needed to replace the secrecy and manipulation of information which characterize the culture of war. In this regard, the media can be a powerful partner for the construction of a culture of peace. Its technological advances and pervasive growth have made it possible for every person to take part in the making of history, enabling for the first time a truly global movement for a culture of peace. At the same time, however, the media is sometimes misused to create and disseminate enemy images, violence and even genocide against other ethnic and national groups, and to portray and glorify violence in many forms. Also secrecy is on the increase, justified in terms of 'national security' and 'economic competitiveness', whereas in fact more transparency is needed in governance and economic decision-making. Therefore, actions are proposed in support of this aim which realize the positive potential of the media to provide essential information and to promote, via participatory communication, the values, attitudes and behaviours of a culture of peace." - At the heart of the First Amendment is the recognition of the fundamental importance of the free flow of ideas and opinions on matters of public interest and concern. The freedom to speak one's mind is not only an aspect of individual liberty -- and thus a good unto itself -- but also is essential to the common quest for truth and the vitality of society as a whole. (...) As Justice Holmes wrote, when men have realized that time has upset many fighting faiths, they may come to believe even more than they believe the very foundations of their own conduct that the ultimate good desired is better reached by free trade in ideas -- that the best test of truth is the power of the thought to get itself accepted in the competition of the market."
