Project Chanology/Long Term Strategy
From Insurgency Wiki
Suggest: Why don't we move some of the more aggressive/more pointless ideas to the discussion page, to keep this one uncluttered with the most workable seeming ideas?
can someone tell me why anons are trying to go after WBM??? http://not420chan.com/i/res/122527.html for the love of raptor jesus this is the last thing we need, somebody plz tell them to STFU
[edit] Operation Demolition
The wisest move for us to do would be to... see some good in Scientology and acknowledge that specific good. Such a move will create immense dissent in the Church... See Operation Demolition .
[edit] Anonymous Threat Alert
A congressman from Kentucky is proposing a bill to fine any website that allows anonymous posting. Based on congress' previous history of passing ridiculous bills, and based on the fact that this is being touted as being "for the children", I would not put it past congress to actually pass this bill. See INTERNETS for more info. Needless to say, this threatens the very existence of Anon.
[edit] Help scns get out of the church
Move this to where it belongs, I dunno where to put it.
We need to help scns get out of the Church every step of the way. Someone needs to set up a site where we can direct scns thinking of leaving the church to popular exscn communities, and also let them post and discuss their problems with the Church anonymously. We could also invite them into Anon to an extent, teach them a few memes. After all, people seek Scientology as a "way to happiness", and we are a group born from lulz. If we teach them mudkipz or something they can see an alternate way and find an alternate community that won't take all their money. If the Church is all they know (which in most cases, it is), then we need to hold their hands.
[edit] IMPORTANT - Regarding the next step
*ATTACK THE CHURCH, not the people, not the beliefs!
After 2/10 there will be a HUGE influx of newcomers. This means that we stop linking to this wiki; it MUST remain a legible source of planning from which Anonymous can direct the outcome of Project Chanology. You know how in those places any original content is drowned in fail within seconds? Yeah, that can't happen here. Since Anon's numbers have grown eightfold, per 711chan's suggestion, decentralization is the key. Each individual anonymous must stop linking here and get the Project Chanology movement a foothold in other, smaller, individual communities. The MMORPG you play? Your myspace faggotry sites? Other forums? Start talking about the movement; give links to whyaretheydead.net or xenu.net. Enlighten the public about what these people have done, but KEEP THEM AT A DISTANCE. Just keep feeding them information that will get them on our side, and when it's decided through discussion and strategy that there will be new protests, or that we need numbers, or petitions, or any other measures that require the masses, these individual anonymous must communicate it to their cells that there will be action against Scientology, and get them to help us. This is how we keep cancer away from Project Chanology and the Anonymous community at large; so please, begin building footholds in the rest of the internet, from Youtube to Xanga, from Digg to Facebook, and get these people on our side. If you STILL don't know why, read up this page and try to work out why we would want Anonymous to remain in order and organization.
Make Mirrors
If we all used HTTrack [1] to download the site and reposted it on a free hosting server, then had a page of links to all the reposted sites, the Co$ could never effectively DDoS.
YES! Do it. This is like not having one central hub, but LOADS of central hubs all with the same content.
[edit] April 12 - Operation Reconnect
Anons, mark your calendars for April 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM
Planning & info:
[edit] Introduction
DDOSing isnt gonna work. This enemy has nearly unlimited resources.
Remember the following when taking any action:
Be compassion our brother,
Whilst reason be our ally.
Knowledge shall serve as our sword,
For lack of name fends our selves.
We are Anonymous.
We are Legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
We will be heard.
Expect Us.
Be sensible, cover your back, and don't break the law
[edit] Ultimate Goal
The ultimate goal of this campaign is the destruction of the Co$. Its existence is sustained solely at the expense of its parishioners and donors. Therefore, to ultimately freeze their finance, we first need to slow their expansion. The next step is to remove their tax exempt status globally.
Anonymous has always made its home on the internet as a formidable force, if secretive, and by our numbers and resourcefulness we have access to the masses even through our veil of anonymity. Misinformation is one of Scientology's key techniques; two can play at that game.
Because we're using a wiki, everything we say and do is being recorded by mainstream media. This is a positive for many reasons, the most obvious is the transparency that it adds which makes it hard for Co$ to sustain the German-Cyber-Terrorists-From-Hell nonsense.
The next stage is the removal of their lower echelons, the first tier of operatives, the disgruntled employees. This is covered in many other areas, so I'll just explain the principle: dissent. Use whatever means necessary to make them doubt what they're doing. Play the upstairs-downstairs barrier up beyond exaggeration. Make them doubt their way, then use the introduction of alternatives(other religions, scientologist splinter groups, any shit) to liberate them from the CoS. With their finances in disarray, the CoS will become nothing more than an insignificant country club for retarded celebrities. Then it's a matter of waiting for them to make a scene, and the media, now biased against Scientology to a greater degree, will deal the coup-de-grace.
It is imperative to remember however, that we are attempting to topple the Church of Scientology- not their beliefs. Some people seem to believe we are fighting all aspects of Scientology. This is false. We are attempting to topple the corrupt, money-whoring machine that is the CHURCH.
Improvise, use their lies against them, defeat them with the media. Xenuspeed, anon, think as an individual but act as Anonymous.
[edit] Guerrilla Warfare in the Age of Information
by MyndHed
This is a treatise in progress on the more involved, but still legal, actions of an internet based radical movement. Forgive me for being so presumptuous as to post this so high on the page, but I've spent a great deal of time converting my knowledge of real world battle tactics into, what I feel, is a very strong theory of attack.
[edit] Overview
Mankind has reached a crux in its social evolution. Until recently, the might of a radical organization's physical assets were as important and effectual as its prowess in the realm of information dissemination. In order to affect change in government and society, one had to physically overtake the state before inserting his personal philosophy into mass media, leaving this accomplishment only to the most determined of individuals who were willing to spend half their life gathering a personal army for this singular purpose.
Now, with the majority of western civilization receiving their information from the interpipes, and the rest being informed by news sources drawing most of its research from the blogoweb, the flow of information has become the only necessity, and, therefore, the absolute power in any proper guerrilla battle strategy. Of course, there are those who will say that what we do is not guerrilla warfare, but singular actions for nothing more than lulz. While these individuals exist within our organization and claim to be members of the cause, they are only fair weather followers whose sole contribution to the greater purpose is to pose as a distraction for the true effort. The simple reality is that our actions, by our own design, are disorganized, but comprise the base components of the most effectual brand of guerrilla warfare – the systematic winning of hearts and minds.
Many critics of our cause, and sometimes supporters, warn of using unpopular acts to achieve our goals. They say that by using “morally reprehensible” tactics, we fuel the fire of the target and shine a negative light on our organization. It must be made clear that our goals are not that of popularity, but to destroy the target by any means necessary. He who controls the flow of information determines the history of an event. No matter what methods are used, as long as they are informational and not physical, they will end in our favor. We must never be afraid of doing whatever is necessary to destroy the target and accomplish our mission.
That being said, the goal of this treatise is to educate those who wish to take the actions of underground internet groups to the next level, namely, using systematized informational warfare to effectively destroy the target. No army, in the history of man, has ever defeated a well rooted guerrilla insurgency. In fact, every major nation, from Rome the the United States, was at least partially defeated by what amounted to nothing more than a group of peasant rebels. This was due to the insurgency's ability to blend into the populace (a trait already held by us, /b/rothers) and their mastery of the main attack strategy in guerrilla warfare, the ambush. This method is easily carried over to the internet and applied as informational warfare.
[edit] The Information Ambush
ambush [am-boosh] - an act or instance of lying concealed so as to attack by surprise.
This definition may seem unnecessary, but it is important to focus on the last word of it. A surprise attack, followed by a hasty withdrawal is the essence of any well executed ambush. The main goal is usually not to eliminate, or even cripple the target, but to weaken their overall resolve. When carried out at with randomization and ferocity, a series of ambushes critically injures the target's morale. We're all aware (at least in principle) how an ambush is carried out in conventional warfare, but how does this translate to the interweb?
First of all, it is easiest to hit the most unguarded public areas of the target. Blogs, forums and comments attached to sponsored media are quick and easy hits (but you probably already know this). When these mediums are hit with hundreds of comments within a matter of minutes, it causes the target to panic. Of course, before they react to the first ambush, the second has already started somewhere else. These actions barely make a dent in their public image, but they serve as the perfect cover for more involved actions, such as the ones I'm about to share.
It would be advantageous of our cause to hijack the image of the target through systematized public relations ambushes. These would not alter our commitment to freedom of information, for they use the target's own public content against them. They could include:
1. Create pop-up and banner ads advertising the target using their own images and words, then randomly spread them. You could make a pop-up ad for free blow jobs and it would still piss people off.
2. Create subversive links that direct to the target's homepage while advertising anything but it. Imagine the frustration of trying to find a recipe for chicken pot pie and winding up at the homepage of the target.
3. Alter viral videos to cut to the target's propaganda (authorized or otherwise) about ten seconds in. Post these in mass on YouTube and Digg, labeling them as the original video. This also insures that the target will not be able to remove their leaked bullshit, regardless of how many lawsuits they file.
4. Create fun and interesting flash games that, after a few levels, cut to an embedded target propaganda video. Newgrounds, ebaums and AB the hell out of them to get the general, clueless masses wondering what's going on.
5. Create a blog for something like celebrity news and load it up with nothing but stories about illicit actions by famous people affiliated with the target. Embed a link to the target's homepage in every post. (This will also work with blogs about religion, mental health, science fiction, etc.)
6. Use the IRL raids to meet people to form small groups for organized information attacks. You could bring matchbooks with a URL and a one time use password on the inside. When the Anon goes to the site (which appears empty except for a javascript prompt) and enters the password, it is then destroyed in the database and they are redirected to a page with a completely indecipherable URL that they can bookmark. This page can be a forum where more audacious actions are planned in secret, while maintaining anonymity.
[edit] In Closing
If these actions are carried out randomly and from multiple sources, they prevent our enemy from ever tracking them. They initially will be so consumed with attempting to intercept them that they will leave themselves defenseless from larger information attacks which I will describe at a later date.
Please add any suggestions on techniques as I plan to make this a full treatise on information based guerrilla warfare to be spread around the interblogs.
[edit] ^ Was that written by a sci?
A couple of things to note:
Don't make spyware. Don't annoy people. Don't spread Sci propaganda under the names of anon clips. Spread the 'secret' material to every corner of the net, but don't trick people into watching "we change your life" bullshit.
The first part of that was perfect. It is information guerrilla warfare. Just make sure you're spreading the right information and you're doing it in a way that doesn't piss people off and turn them away from the cause, instead of to it.
Finally, be cautious using sci-words. Unless you're going to be ironic[2], it's probably better not to use modern sci propaganda. They're experts at manipulating language and blatantly lying. The only person within the organisation incoherent enough to provide good quotes was Hubby. Writer. Lulz.
Note about this post: I'm not trying to be provocative or start in-fighting, but the way we will truly reach our goal is sharing ideas and refining them. Everyone must have a voice and everyone must listen.
Avoid making Anon sound like a secret org like Co$, however don't let newcomers get noobjuice all over 4chan (or this wiki). To sum it up: Be INVITING, not a jerk, you don't want possible Co$ -> Normal People converts turnign back because all they have to turn to is an ass.

[edit] Charges of crimes against humanity?
There is an international court for crimes against humanity, and it seems it doesn't matter whether they broke domestic laws or not. see 4th paragraph We could probably get them officially charged if we get enough sympathy, just have to figure out the official channels for doing so.
After further research I would say this falls under article 7 (k) [other]or 7 (c) [if argued psychological enslavement] and of the International Criminal courts doctrine: ICC_doctrine It also appears Bush has stopped the U.S. from aligning with the court, see wikipedia for countries that have. (Also I believe the disconnect policy falls under 7(i) [forced disappearance of persons] definitely.)

[edit] Forced random encounters
TL;DR Individual cells can organise their own random raids, some false some real, keep in touch with your local anon cell, keep the ball rolling and keep the scilons guessing/wasting money.
As part of the decentralisation idea, I would like to recommend a policy of random/false raids world-wide, or at least some policy/operational guidelines in order to surprise the Co$. The main reason being, on the 10th when the raids showed up, alot of the places were reported shut in preparation and security forces were on standby. This is a huge opportunity to cause havoc, especially if we spread misinformation about false raids, and organise raids quickly so Co$ can't respond in time to hide their followers, shut buildings or hire protection.
In either case, we catch Co$ off-guard and get in touch with their followers, convincing some of them to leave or ask questions, or we force them to shut for the day and waste money on hired staff. It's win either way. They will not know when we are coming, if they do, that's okay, if enough people do it, the centres will be on their own against individual raids, rather than their whole organisation globally preparing for one huge raid. This is also a good way to keep the momentum rolling, a form of practice for another big raid if we want one.
Possible policy for those who decentralise their raids include:
0)Anonymity is your friend. Although your cells will be regulars, your only meeting points would be the protest site and the site from which you get your raid information. You need to stay on track, focus on protesting and not trading small talk, phone numbers or IM contacts. There could be PIs and Scilon infiltrators in your cell waiting for personal info to leak through as well. If you bring friends, you should act as if you don't know each other. The original code of conduct still applies and should be your group's mantra. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-063clxiB8I
1)To organise a raid that will occur within a week of posting meet and protest details. No doubt Scilons will catch on and shut down their centre or hire staff, that doesn't matter. This will double as an opportunity for individual cells to meet, and create a code. This code will be used on the site to determine if a future posted raid is fake or real. It should be subtle and hard to notice/understand to the average reader. If a majority of the group as a whole determines that their code has been compromised, the code should be changed during the next real raid.
2)For everything real raid, post 1-3 false raids. These raids should not be posted at the same time. One raid post at a time, again for the element of surprise.
3)THE OWNER OF THE SITE SHOULD NOT REVEAL THEMSELVES, everyone should talk as if no one there owned the site, names and websites should also be withheld. You can discuss it in small groups during protests, using loud shouting and moving from protesters to cover up your conversation, before breaking up into smaller groups and passing it on to the protester cover agents. Once that's done, thats the end of the discussion until further notice. Discussion groups and protest groups should be rotated. If you discussed a code the previous time, you're on cover duty the next.
4)Individual raids should try and organise their own dates and meet points without influence from other cells activities, in order to keep up the randomness and confusion. The above mentioned method could be used to find a suitable date for the next raid.
5)NEWFAGS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED, you can't worry to much about scilon infiltration, it doesn't matter based on your limited contact and you can't afford to be paranoid. You'll be able to spot them quickly as they won't be protesting or they will be doing un-anon things. Again, double win. If they inform on you, the worst that will happen is a shut-down centre or hired staff, again meaning lost money to Co$.
TL;DR Individual cells can organise their own random raids, some false some real, keep in touch with your local anon cell, keep the ball rolling and keep the scilons guessing/wasting money.
[edit] Two rights do not absolve continuing wrongs
One of the points of focus that CO$ is directing the media's attention to is their involvement in community work. The main ones mentioned by the head of the NYC group were a drug prevention program with children as young as 6 years old, and a movement to teach the UN declaration of Human Rights in schools. Remember you are targeting the large public, ideas like "all drugs aren't bad" don't work with them, find ideas in phase with the main public - the number of people who have died due to the Church's policies on medication - and some of the cases where the Church itself has violated the UN declaration of Human Rights. The face that Co$ is showing the media is one that refuses to acknowledge these past offences in the light of their current community work. Someone who volunteers at a soup kitchen but who has killed someone by starving them, is still guilty.
-- The Co$ is not a person, so your analogy is inaccurate. Its followers do the things they're ordered to do. In the case of harassment etc. these orders are explicitly given by Co$'s leaders; in the case of these community programs, the leaders give very few orders, and it's the inner human quality of the individual followers that accomplishes these things.
-- The Co$ only destroys its victims, if the victims do good things, Co$ steals credit.
-- NEVER pass out anything with your handwriting on it. EVER.
[edit] Show your love...
"Valentine's day approaches. I recommend raids to distribute Valentine's cards to scientologists as they leave their centres. Naturally, you will sign the cards as Anonymous, in the tradition of the season. Also inscribe a message of comfort, or a link to a website that may help these people by letting them know that they are not alone, and that we are working to help them. "
Do research on your own and find days to do this. Acceptable days include the birthdays of the victims of scientology, birthdays of leaders of scientology (which should include facts about this leader's abuses of power), mother's day, father's day, etc. Keep in mind L. Ron's birthday is on 3/13
Soon as i can get a single thread for this IRL raid i will move this content there and link it. For now im collating it all Here
[edit] Memorial services to the victims of Scientology
The reactions from the Church of Scientology to today's protest, while laughable, display a key weakness in their strategy: whatever we do, they will label us as terrorists or something equally ridiculous when commenting to the press.
I suggest, therefore, that we do something that makes such attacks look completely inappropriate and insensitive.
How? Hold a memorial service. Hold memorial services to the victims of scientology outside every Church of Scientology centre.
What would we do?
We gather together outside Scientology centres, dressed in suitably sombre attire, wearing suitably sombre masks. Maybe we sing a hymn - "For those in peril on the sea" is both a suitably solemn hymn while also being a subtle dig at the SeaOrg.
Then we lay floral tributes to the victims of scientology. We hold a one minute silence. And then, (just to prove to the Church of Scientology how unpatriotic and subversive we are) we sing the National Anthem.
By doing this we dare the Church of Scientology to speak out against us without looking like retards along with gaining positive media attention.
(not OP) This is a GREAT idea. So far, our biggest problem, as I see it, is the negative spin we are recieving via the media and it's utter lack of understanding of us or our goals. I think this should be looked at more-in-depth.
(also not op) This Idea stands out above all the others so far. You need something to galvanize the media in your favor. We may be teh Interbuts haets machine but even anon has a soft side. If we want to draft the greater public to our aid in this they must be able to see us, relate to us, and then sympathize with us. Showing compassion for the departed is always a means of drawing sympathy. Holding a memorial service for the departed victims of Scientology would be the best possible means. Create a Scientology version of the viet nam wall. On it put all the names of all the people who have died as a result of Scientology. Cart it out to their orgs and mourn the dead.
[edit] Behold My Right Wing Zombie Army
Cross-posted on ED:
Last night I had what may be the Idea: a way to get the right wing/Fox News/evangelical crowd to take up our banner for Great Justice.
For the right wing blogosphere and radio kooks, Clinton is the lever. Bill, that is. After the CoS lost their tax-exempt status (following Project Snow White), it was Bill who gave it back to them. Translated for the right wing, that is ZOMFG CoS domestic TERRARISTS in bed with CLINTONS!
Linking scilons to Bill is a bad idea, you create a reason to hate Bill, not a reason to hate scilons. Many right wingers hate scilons already.
These idiots must attack at any mention of the C- word. So we get them spreading our anti-CoS talking points, thinking they're bashing the Clintons. What's better, is after enough of them go at it, breaking the CoS becomes a conservative issue in an election year, and the candidates have to respond.
Smell that? I do believe that's justice.
As for the evangelicals, it's not entirely my idea but dovetails well. CoS hates Jesus, wants to convert our childruns? CLINTONS!? RAR!
It's a neat way to get everyone who hates us hating for us, don't you think? A few well-placed blog posts and calls to radio shows should turn the trick if combined with letters to megachurches in CoS-infested areas.

It's reasonably well documented that L.rOn implied that Jesus was a "lover of boys and young men." Could definitely be used if somebody is willing to do the research.
- Also, the penthouse article on LRH Jr, he states that LRH thought of himself as THE BEAST. Forward the entire article. It's sickening.
Update:
If also-anon has contacted you to do the thing, it will be ready in four days. Don't forget to vary time and location. If you're on the voice end of things, remember to listen to at least one complete broadcast from your target before calling.

Yes, that Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church. Now personally, I think Phelps and his legion are redneck scum, but, send him a few letters and Scientology material detailing how LRH and the CoS think Jesus is a pedophile, and it can almost be assured that Mr. Phelps will want to harass Scientology. But, make sure Phelps and his gang are not associated with Anonymous.

Annie Omnes writes:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/cultmenu.htm
The above is a religious-people-run site whose offices are in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and whose servers are in California and Texas. It is a painfully fair site, and has a public archive of its own errata. Their section on Scientology begins with a sentence stating that they cannot, in good conscience and knowing all the facts they could gather, tolerate a "religion" that fleeces its flock as it perpetrates human rights abuses.
- Can't find any evidence of the above statement on the page http://www.religioustolerance.org/scientol.htm
This is not some crazy fundie site. They fairly review Brokeback Mountain, and even have advertisements for abortion providers (though they would like to see more women on the pill, etc., so that there is less need for abortion). While they may not like Anonymous's general taste for atheism, the site's writers and the organization that runs the site will have no trouble with our wanting to join their crusade against what any fair and decent person with all the information can see is not just a fake religion, but a menace.
- They've been compromised: Director of Public Affairs and Human Rights for the Church of Scientology Toronto is author or co-author of almost all articles.
- Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontario_Consultants_on_Religious_Tolerance : "Some controversy concerning the site is related to its presentation of the Church of Scientology. Al Buttnor is listed as author or co-author of almost all the site's articles on Scientology. Buttnor is the Director of Public Affairs and Human Rights for the Church of Scientology Toronto.[8] On one page where Robinson is listed as the author,[9] most of the text is identical with a Church of Scientology site.[10] These articles focus less on controversial topics than the site's treatments of other faiths, such as the Mormon church and its denominations. For example, the Religioustolerance.org section on Mormonism contains numerous entries about controversial events in Mormon church history and doctrine such as the Mountain Meadows massacre and Blood Atonement.[11] However the Scientology entries contain no mention of controversial elements such as Operation Snow White, the Fair Game policy, the Xenu story or the debate over Narconon materials in public schools.[12] In addition, the site is currently blocking the internet archive Wayback Machine from showing previous versions of the Scientology pages. The Wayback Machine, for a time, did not return any results for religioustolerance.org after September 2006. As of September 2007, access to OCRT website snapshots has been blocked on the Wayback Machine.[13]"
Also, food for thought: The CoS bears many of the hallmarks associated, in the Doomsday philosophies of Christian Fundamentalism, with the Antichrist. (1) Appropriation of the Cross without the Christianity to back it up.** (2) "The House of David" -- The leader, right now, is DAVID Miscavige. (3) The Antichrist will be a smooth talker. (4) And the leader of a multinational business enterprise. (5) And "he will promise peace in our time if only we will surrender in thought and in action to him."
Now, I am not a Christian, neither was I born one, but this stuff has to have occurred to someone else, too. Someone Christian who finds scilons just as terrible as we do. Maybe if we let them know we see the parallels, they'll join us and help perpetrate some real peace, n'est-ce pas?
- I'm a right-wing zombie, and I'll post it on my blog. Sounds like fun...although I doubt anyone's going to think ZOMG Clinton=C0$!!eleventy!!11! It's not really necessary to tie it to the Clintons, anyway--nobody likes sicko cults like C0$. A few well-placed blog comments on VRWC blogs (by anyone) can't hurt, either. VRWCanon 14:41, 10 February 2008 (PST)
- Re Scientology & Antichrist: Hubbard was involved in the OTO for a number of years; performed sex magic rituals (!) with Jack Parsons; The Process Church of the Final Judgement and Son of Sam were splinter groups; L. Ron Jr has claimed that Scientology was set up as one big covert Satanist organisation with members being unwitting practitioners and that for a while his father claimed to be the Antichrist!
- The CoS 'cross' bears far more resemblance to the cross used by The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. A society that Hubbard very much wanted to be a part of but was shunned from. Might be an avenue worth investigating...
[edit] Idealistic Strategy
Now remember, we have a much larger ally than has occurred to most of you: The common people. Hundreds of millions of normal citizens who may not be part of our legion, yet still maintain brain function absolutely and HATE the scientologists, for many of the same reasons we do. Can the majority lose? We are the majority here, by far. In other words, our victory depends ULTIMATELY on enlisting support of the masses. We need to get them to engage in many of the activities that we are already performing in order to make a dent in Scientology's historically impregnable organization. I'm not saying "bring every person from the streets and have em' join anonymous." Rather, leave anon out of it: just encourage civil agitation on moral grounds. Our idealistic strategy would be to build a wide coalition (directly and indirectly) to crush the "church" of scientology into the ground like a meteor crushes an armadillo.
At this point seeing as we want to affect the people within scientology, we must find a way to cause the church to spend as much as possible. Any information regarding their fiscal (i.e. money flow within the company) would allow us to target key areas within their system by exploiting choke spots.
Short of electroshock therapy to the lesser members of the organization, it should be noted that if we achieve a strain on their expenses long enough, they would most probably increase taxing on their lower tier members in order to compensate. This would in effect generate the strain that would , in the perfect situation, generate the kind of strife that could effectively push a person to leave the church. However this generates a moral question, which would in effect demand that before we undertake any such operation, that we have a plan to bring support (generally information on the proper help groups) to these people.
http://www.xenu-directory.net/documents/corporate/index.html (link to analysis about CoS financials split by entities.)
http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?highlight=taxes&t=24295 (analysis of property tax load of CoS in ONE county...)
- Take note that pursuing legal action at this point against scientology in order to directly attack their tax exempt status would be nearly impossible seeing as thanks to being tax exempt they can generate a very sturdy flow of income and produce a legal stalemate before any government body can take any real action. A parallel can be drawn with the tobacco industry in execution, however the methods employed are most probably going to be very different. Looking at the kind of potential financial burden that they would be hit with based on the accelerated expansion since they received their tax exempt status, it would be safe to assume that they would be driven to claim almost immediate bankruptcy.
- However, if some kind lawyer were to pursue legal action on our behalf for free, sources indicate that that would be epic win.
[edit] Splitting the CoS via Psychological Operations
The long years of psychological conditioning endured by CoS members, especially members that have been with the church the longest, will have created VERY powerful barriers between the "in-group" (other scientologists) and the "out-group" (non-believers). The problem with dealing with religious folks like this is that we, the enemy, are ANOTHER step of out-grouping away. The CoS will not be manipulated from an outside mob.
That being said, if you havent seen it yet, read this message allegedly from someone on the inside: http://forums.enturbulation.org/viewtopic.php?t=1619 (Link 404'd, someone find screenshots of topic?) If this is true, there is turmoil and confusion within the CoS. This is an opportune time for us - people who have doubts, who feel trapped, who would otherwise be too scared to speak out, may be emboldened by widespread support. Now attention is on the "Church", their dirty tactics of fear, spurious litigation and defamation are no longer as powerful because we are watching them, and just waiting for them to give us something more to expose.
[edit] Fight the Suppression of Information
Fight the CoS PR machine by outmaneuvering them. Publicize their secrets so that popular culture uses the info against them. The CoS look like a bunch of fools when they attempt to suppress information.
>Write Scientology fanfiction. Create fake accounts on Fanfiction.net and Deviantart and start updating "Buffy the Thetan Slayer" or "Sephiroth vs Xenu" or "Inuyasha: the Secrets of Scientology". Update frequently, more information each chapter. Submit it to fanfiction contests, linkspam it on fansites, etc.
If anyone could draw Scientology fanart, it would be massive win. L Ron Hubbard was a Sci-fi/Fantasy writer; he'd be flattered by all the fan dedication, stands to reason.
- Prize to help launch a $250M class-action lawsuit against CoS for abuse of Copyright Law Each eBay auction censored is a plaintiff!
[edit] Demand Congressional Investigations
The protests tomorrow will be a great start. But just a start. If you want to cause lasting damage to the Church's leadership, we need to hit them harder. The Protests will attract public attention. But we will need to do more.
After the 10th, go to your home county's Registrar office, and find out various laws regarding getting signatures from registered voters to demand congressional action. A strong grass roots demand for a congressional investigation into Scientologies alledged practices and abuses following the 10 FEB Protests. Get enough registered voters in multiple voting districts and trust me, you will have the politicians attention. Also, e-mailing your congressman and senator individually will trigger a reaction if enough Anonymous send them.
This might very well result in David Miscavige and his cronies hauled before the Senate Judiciary Committee to awnser some "Questions". After seeing some previous interviews from David Miscavige, I can only conclude that this will result in EPIC Fail for $cientology. Additionally, because Congress likes to keep all things Balanced, they may very well call on Mark Bunker and other dissidents, maybe even Lisa McPhersons parents, to testify as well. The effects of a congressional investigation, under the live cameras of CNN, FOX, MSNBC, and even C-SPAN will have cause some of the most horrendous damage this publicity averse cult has ever sustained.
Get to it, people! here is a link to email your congressperson https://forms.house.gov/htbin/wrep_const
[edit] Create Squads/Taskforces
Creating squads with their own mission/task could help to unite the effort, I suggest creating taskforces unite the effort by bringing together groups of people that have skills or time for efforts such as photochopping, archiving/mirroring information and contacting media. These taskforces should have their own IRC channel for communication.
Discuss it here: http://forums.enturbulation.org/viewtopic.php?p=21360
[edit] Making Art to Support the War Effort
like, Anon to collaboratively write an "alternative history" fiction where CoS "clears" most of the industrial world, to illustrate the horrors of the logical end of their deep-rooted fascist ideology. Let's use this internets platform to make this collaborative fiction 's "canon" - material that documents what occurs within the diegesis (or narrative borders) then spontaneous organization will take up from there with fake interviews world war z style, web comics, webisodes etc
It could be useful for different reasons ; to excite the emotions of pity and fear to motivate, inspire, keep people's attention on the long run, in between events, by making us come back compulsively F5ing for new content and so forth
Being united as one (and divided by zero) is an important factor that can help Anonymous win this fight. Guy Fawkes mask help, but T-Shirt can also help. Wearing the same outfit can provide a professional look. T-Shirts can be found at Chanology.tk
[edit] Complain to other authorities
There has been a lot of talk on this page about complaining to elected representatives, but working for a major retailer and being active in local politics I'm aware that these aren't necessarily always the best people to approach in these instances. Here in the UK, the governmental regulatory bodies that look after consumer rights - protection against fraud, that sort of thing - are called Trading Standards, and they operate on a regional basis. Since it is our contention that the 'church' of Scientology makes a variety of claims about what its technologies are capable of achieving for members, members must pay for the goods and services that comprise this technology and their claims are false, and since there's a good degree of evidence to back this up, it struck me last week that each individual outlet, or church, has a case to answer for fraud, and that therefore it would be appropriate to report each outlet to the local division of Trading Standards.
Looking into this matter today I discovered that emailed reports to Trading Standards are now handled by a separate government department called Consumer Direct [3]. I therefore went to the online complaint form, and submitted my complaint (it is possible to do this anonymously, but I did include my full and correct details so as to add legitimacy to the complaint). Since I live in Manchester, the text of the complaint itself, limited to 3000 characters, ran as follows:
(Begins)It has come to my attention that the trader detailed in Section 2, an arm of a transnational corporation, is operating fraudulently. Although I have not personally paid for any goods or services supplied by the trader or its corporate parent, I am concerned that its continued advertisement of its goods and services presents a danger to consumer welfare in Manchester. Specific examples of such fraudulent practices include:
- The promotion of free ‘personality tests’, which have been found to act such that even the optimal (i.e. best possible according to the test’s definition of ‘good’ or ‘bad’ answers) response set will lead to a recommendation that the participant invest in products and services supplied by the trader (see e.g. http://home1.gte.net/deleyd/religion/scientology/scientology.html), indicating the test is a fraudulent marketing tool; - The offering for sale of services promoted under the banner of ‘Dianetics’, which, it is claimed, can relieve mental and psychosomatic physical ailments, but has been found by independent scientific studies to bring no such benefits (see e.g. http://home.snafu.de/tilman/krasel/dianetics_test.html); - Claims that the purchasing of such goods and services will lead the purchaser to attaining supernatural powers, which have never in the history of the organisation been demonstrated (see e.g. http://www.auditing.org/13-ot.htm); - The promotion of the premises under the trading name ‘Church of Scientology’, which is inherently misleading as it implies the organisation is religious in nature, yet numerous practices employed by the organisation – e.g. its reliance on such marketing techniques as those outlined, its requirement that adherents pay large sums of money to gain access to its texts, and its maintenance of copyrights over those texts – indicate that it is not a legitimate religion; - Worldwide reports of threats to the health, safety and wellbeing of purchasers of its goods and services, e.g. its insistence on ‘disconnection’ from those who oppose the organisation’s activities (see e.g. http://members.chello.nl/mgormez/childabuse/disconnect.html), its opposition to the legitimate science of psychiatry (see e.g. http://carolineletkeman.org/sp/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=88&Itemid=104) and allegations of medical malpractice in the 1995 death of Lisa MacPherson , culminating in a settled lawsuit for wrongful death (see e.g. http://www.sptimes.com/2004/05/29/Tampabay/Scientologists_settle.shtml).
You may also be familiar with reports that the organisation has been guilty of numerous abuses of human rights and national laws; I appreciate that such matters do not fall under your purview, therefore my complaint against the trader refers specifically to the above-mentioned threats to consumer welfare in Manchester. I would therefore like to request that an investigation be undertaken into the trader’s activities, and that the appropriate action be taken against it thereafter. (Ends)
There are several things to note about the way I went about this: first of all the sources could be better; sadly it was only after I finished writing it that I found this page [4], which has some much better sources and is recommended to anyone wishing to replicate the exercise. Secondly, I was very careful in the language I used, being clear that my complaint was directed at the specific trading arm of the organisation, referencing actual or potential offences of fraud or other breaches of consumer welfare, and scattering it with words and phrases I expect a Trading Standards officer to understand, such as 'trader', 'corporation', 'goods and services', 'purchaser' and the old favourite, 'health and safety'. I made no reference to Anonymous, and specifically stated at the end that any controversies about Scientology that I knew would not fall within the remit of the authority had no bearing on the complaint.
I haven't had a response yet, naturally, but it'll be interesting. I thought I'd post about this here because it would be good if other British Anons living near to the other churches sent something similar (Consumer Direct covers the whole country), and also if someone could hit the national body handling this kind of thing, the Office of Fair Trading [5] - but this is also contactable through Consumer Direct, so I'm not sure whether it would be possible for the same person to make separate complaints about local branches and the organisation as a whole without looking too much like we've got an axe to grind, which is what I was primarily trying to avoid.
Also, perhaps Anons living elsewhere could look into the options for authorities to petition in their jurisdictions, and post their findings here too.
[edit] Identity Correction
Although difficult and possibly legally ambiguous anons could pose as Co$ reps in public forums (media, confrences, etc) with the intent of delivering our view of scientology, engaging in so called "identity correction" programs (see the yes men [6]).
[edit] The YouTube Front and How We're Epic Failing
In the beginning, the people cheered us on with countless comments and millions of views. Lots of people took up the infamous suited question mark, and made themselves Anonymous. But now, what the hell is going on? We've lost practically all our support on YouTube. Thanks to the lie-spreaders, we've gotten a reputation as racists, extremists, even hypocrites somehow. How did we let this happen? How are we supposed to tear down Hubbard's Dream if we can't even gather supporters on one of the most crucial gatherings on the Internet? YouTube is important!
Anonymous is nothing without support (or at least grudging agreement) of the non-Anons. We can say all we want about how everyone is Anonymous, how we are unstoppable, how we *will* succeed, but we're just fooling ourselves if we don't make a real attempt at gathering the support of the masses. What if we were to borrow a tactic used by the Scientologist? They have, in the past, tried to brainwash celebrities into joining them, in order to drawn in and ensnare their fan. We should try out a similar tactic. Just not Tom Cruise, he's at least 85% fail by volume. (the other 15% is stupidity)
Anonymous should gain the support of Smosh. Smosh has, by far, the most fans on all of YouTube. Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox together make a force of popularity unmatched by anything else on the Internet, with the possible exception of Penny Arcade. They would be an invaluable asset to our cause. We don't have to convince them to join Anonymous, since being Anonymous would render their popularity useless. It would be more in our interests to just gain their support. If Smosh were to say to their fans, "Hey, Scientology is evil, and these cool guys are trying to bring them down. You should totally check them out," imagine how our support would grow! Additionally, we may want to consider asking for the support of other groups… perhaps the guys at Pure Pwnage, or the geeks that make Ask a Ninja.
Borrowing tactics from our enemy would be a low thing to do, and many Anons might be understandably hesitant to do so. But remember the American Revolution. When war was neat and organized, both sides simply walked into battle and got shot. The Americans could not afford to do this, just was we cannot afford to face the Church face to face. It would be a slaughter. Instead, the Americans stooped to using Guerilla tactics employed by the Indians, who were viewed as scum at the time. Just as the Revolutionaries borrowed tactics from the Indians, so too much Anonymous borrow tactics from the Scientologists. This isn't about playing fair and staying nice and clean. This is about dismantling the Church of Scientology, and proving once and for all that Anonymous- nay, the Internet as a whole, is a goddamn force to be reckoned with!
Thoughts?
- So, we should R2-45 David?
- I don't think we've gained a reputation as racists/extremists/etc whatever. But we need support yeah. What are you suggesting though?
- Good ideas, I'll contribute my bit, but I don't think we're failing on Youtube. The ratings of the $cilon crap that gets posted there (when they're brave enough even to have ratings) speaks for itself.
- Anon should ignore people like Paul fetch, he's only a distraction. The operation Reconnect videos got about 35000 views these need to increase greatly. We should get them on Digg front page again.
[edit] The fliers are failing
We simply aren't getting credit by news outlets for being international protests, we need the fliers we hand out to mention that it is in international protest so we have a better chance of getting news coverage. It seems the reporters just assume these are local events, and that's the coverage they get.
[edit] Get companies to denounce Co$
DELL, 7/11, Coca Cola and PHILIPS ELECTRONICS HAVE OFFICIALLY DENIED ANY LINK TO SCIENTOLOGY/CoS - Get Other Companies To Follow Their Lead - Needs a Worldwide MAJOR FUCKING Effort
The corporate world knows Scientology is poison, read this http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23192847-2,00.html
from the Aussie anons: "This gives us another tactic - let's make an official letter of enquiry from the international volunteer activist group known as Anonymous, as to whether company X has any dealings with the CoS organisation, and the nature of those dealings. Politely acknowledge that a response is entirely voluntary, and we will take care to only boycott companies where we have a reasonable suspicion of a link. Official confirmation that the company has no links to CoS, (preferably a press release or other official announcement, as we have no spokespeople or leaders to accept correspondence) will spare them from an upcoming worldwide boycott campaign. It is in the interests of company X to follow the lead of major companies including Dell, 7/11 and Philips Electronics in confirming there are no links, or severing any link which does exist. After the global Feb 10 protests that have attracted attention and support (especially from young people, a demographic often said to be complacent about social issues), there may be reason to believe such a boycott would be commercially damaging to corporation X.
We send this out, addressed to every department/CEO who would have an interest in it. They'll probably get many of the same letter from different anons, which is good."
Needs a massive effort from our USA anons to succeed, because the big American companies won't listen to anyone downunder. (They've even stopped letting them play multiplayer on games that can in every other market e.g. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2)
In addition to the letter idea, personally we should take every opportunity to let business know Scientology will drive customers away - if restaurants give you a feedback card to fill out, if their are salespeople trying to sell things to you, any opportunity you have, say that you heard that CoS is doing some terrible things and you will not deal with anyone that's with them. Good ol' Tom Cruise said "You're either with us, or you're not." He's right, and Corporate America needs to show which side they are on.
Then the next step is to actually carry out the boycott - compile evidence of any links. If any are found, publish the info, if the company's response is not satisfactory we start publicising it with protests, flyers, and talking about it.
Even if no company admits to having links and we are unable to find any, if more companies rush to distance themselves from the Cult of Scientology, that would be an epic PR win. We'll just have to boycott Scientology celebrities. Though that sort of negative marketing might seem a bit too personal. (That won't trouble some Anons).
(Thorne here) While I understand what you are driving at, in effect, what you are asking/suggesting is corporate blackmail. "Do as we say or else" kind of logic is exactly what we are fighting against. While it is neccessary to fight fire with fire at times, stooping this low, this early, could shut us down outright. Think this through people...
Enlist the aid of knowmore.org by any means. An article from these guys rating how Fail Scientology is as a BUSINESS would be epic. M.F. 07:51, 10 March 2008 (PDT)
[edit] Non-Anon Allies
The #socal branch already have a 30 year, top level CoS deserter in our corner. Her name is Tory "Magoo" Christman and she's very active (and not scared) in trolling the CoS. She'll be at the LA raid on Saturday. As will Graham E Berry who is one of the only lawyers who have stood up to CoS's heavy-handed litigious cosh. They will lead us to moar old school anti CoS warriors. We need to welcome these people and listen to them; for instance Tory advised we one-down the 'fag' suffix since NORPs (Normal Ordinary Responsible People(s)) don't 'get' the in-joke and feel uncomfortable with the 'homophobic' overtones of our lingo. That's just one example. We need to be aware now that "SCIENTOLOGY'S CLOSED DUE TO AIDS/THETANS/XENU" means nothing to them.
TL;DR? Let's not alienate no-anons with 'offensive' terminology and/or cliquey shit. Graham for example, is going to be of immense help when it comes to getting the CoS tax exempt status looked at again by the IRS and even having the government open a RICO investigation of the 'church'
--76.174.212.114 23:00, 7 February 2008 (PST)
It is worth noting however that some of the memes get the public on our side for example rick-rolling.
[edit] Proliferation of Knowledge
Spread the CoS's "religious texts". Use torrent sites such as Piratebay, Mininova, etc. Upload documents to google, yahoo or microsoft and other large tech portals. Save evidence as photos or ZIPs and upload to tinypic, imageshack, mediafire/rapidshare, thatimagesite.com etc...
Information was meant to be free. When presented correctly, it catches like wildfire and cannot be stopped. Accompany docs and videos with "Copyrighted content shared under USC.107, Fair Use." If CoS tries to hide this info from public view, they'll end up looking like even more like a CULT full of crackpots.
Put the scientology vids on to youtube, Mojoflix, Live video, google video ...etc. As for scientology docs if anyone has a OCR reader put the docs on wikia's scientology wiki, and possibly wikibooks.
The slow pace at which followers learn the "higher secrets" of CoS causes the believer to not question them. Brainwashing intensifies the longer it is in place, so a 20-year member will believe anything they're told whether it sounds batshit crazy or not. Because of this, it is important that Scientology's advanced materials be disseminated not only to the media and the public at large, but also to their own lower-level followers. A person who hasn't been brainwashed sufficiently will recognize how insane the CoS canon is and leave. Additionally, because believers have to pay for the this knowledge (and because human nature dictates that people won't pay for shit when they can easily get it freely) CoS will have its primary source of income castrated. In my opinion this is THE MOST EFFECTIVE way CoS will be taken down.
using the email server fastmail.fm one may take on the form of any email address by putting it into the from window , using this we can attack by sending mass spam and false emails from heads of scientology.
Note: Members are taught that reading the confidential higher level materials before they are "ready", may make them become ill and possibly die - that south park managed to broadcast a cartoon version of OT3 without the hospitals being overwhelmed, proves this is not true. Members will not leave because you tell them that the upper levels "are crazy", they will either think what you have said sounds reasonable, or that you have read a squirreled (modified) version which is full of changes to make Hubbard look bad.
A different angle is to point out the systematic squireling/modification of LRH's work by RTC (the goal of RTC is to keep the tech pure). Each time they re-release all of Hubbard's books, they find various things that need to be "corrected" in order to make them even more "100% standard tech". The most blatant "correction" they have done is on the definition of the second dynamic, changing it from "a) sex, b) family" to "creativity". One guy did a 230 page report on this changed: http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/alter/seconddynamic.html (and later got ex-communicated because of it). There is a longer list of other alterations that can be found here: http://web.archive.org/web/20020107032138/http://scientologyintegrity.org/htmldocs/squirrel_documentation.htm - the advantage of pressing on this point, is that if they happen to have both old and new copies of the books in question, you can sit them down and prove the change (which bypasses the various arguments such as "anyone critical of Scientology must be full of lies or mis-representing the truth").
How about making Scientology a general target? Promote anyone who just wants to pull off any type of prank to defaultly target Scientology. This goes for hackers and such too. (Hacking is illegal don't do it)This recruits more than just Anon. members and it has the potential to be more than just annoying.
[edit] Religion is Free
www.religionisfree.org is a wiki created explicitly for the documentation of the information we want the world to know about Scientology. We are expanding pages daily in anticipation of 3/15. Contact staff if you are an experienced wiki editor who would like to help by expanding the pages with detailed information.
[edit] Offline
Caution: There is a site that has a list of ways the scifags have harrassed people. One form is anonymous letters from "concerned neighbours"/scifags about the person...typically they say "It has recently come to my attention that Anon is a child molester, rapes sheep, and runs an illegal moonshine and bootlegging operation. Just wanted you to be careful!"
If they see your face, they will take a picture. If they know your name, they will find out where you live. If they try to follow you, lose them or you will most likely be harrassed.
Note: If you do decide to take offline action, take every precaution necessary, and always be overcautious when it comes to avoiding being photographed or being identified: If you see two cameras, always assume there are at least two you don't see. If you identify one Org member or security guard patrolling the area, always assume there are at least three or four you aren't able to identify. Remember: anonymity is our greatest asset. As you might have guessed, masks are a must. Where protesting in masks is illegal, use sunglasses, hats, anything legal to conceal your identity.
Go to the forums.
Hand out flyers near CoS locations. Conduct the same disinformation campaigns they do. Plaster over their signs with your signs. Avoid outright vandalism, graffiti and destruction, because that alienates the public and hurts our credibility.
Business Card Spamming
Think about it. Business cards are the perfect way, in a tiny format, to spread the word. Not only are they inexpensive to produce, but their form factor allows them to be inserted almost ANYWHERE unobtrusively, as well as distributed during raids. One version of the cards is currently complete, find it here: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ddjftbpq_3ghscpmh9. Other versions are welcome. Along with this, the cards could be distributed at the following (feel free to add) http://www.scribd.com/doc/2287042/anon-cards-1
- Slipped into the card dispensers of professional, academic, or any offices.
- Slid through mail slots, into mailboxes, under windshield wipers
- Snuck under a latte, under the lip of the cookie jar, on the keyboard. (Starbucks, ahoy)
- Into retail boxes. Know how some boxes have just the sticker seal? Inject the cards there
- Dropped into open bags on public transit.
- Go to bookstore and slip them in every book written by L. Ron Hubbard.
- In cafeterias or food courts, put one on each table.
- Every college campus has areas where lots of people hang out. Put a stack there.
Scientology Transparency Spamming
Distribute physical copies of Scientology's price list (on wikipedia)and billion year contract to raise awareness, this may help the wayward from getting initially sucked in.
[edit] YOU FOUND THE CARD Spamming
Similar to the business card spamming, get a bunch of blank cue cards and a sharpie, write "YouFoundTheCard.com" on the card, and nothing else. Leave the cards EVERYWHERE. The sheer mystery of the card will drive most people's curiosity into visiting the link, and the link has LOADS of information, and a very catchy way of handing it out. :)
Also, there are flyers available here and here that you can print out, cut in half, fold in half and glue the sides together to make a convincing dollar flyer. Then throw them wherever you think necessary, but don't bring them to protests! Police will be a LOT more receptive if we have a reputation for keeping our protests clean and without litter.
Some libraries allow you to print out 15 pages a day for free. you can print out 8 cards per page, totalling 120 cards per person per day.
[edit] Sticker Campaigning
Anonymous has shown that a simple image - http://img149.imageshack.us/my.php?image=guitarronik3.jpg - placed as a sticker could be INCREDIBLY effective. If this were distributed to the endless pandering scene kids of the world, they would soon appear everywhere - bathroom stals, busses, trains, posts. These footpads with chaotic tastes and no real direction would provide a far faster and far more effective distribution and adhesion network than already exists. Now all that remains is to enact this.
Send anon-reviewed press releases to local media. Hand them a story that demands a rebuttal, such as "allegedly responsible for the deaths of 5 former members" or "secretive organization angers YouTube viewers." Include solid, cited evidence (which Scientology can't provide.) Read Wikipedia and Operation Clambake publicly-verifiable information such as court hearings, etc. Scientology organizations use "management by statistics", statistics for the week are always collected at Thursday 2pm. People / departments / organizations, that have lower statistics than the previous week are considered "down-stat". The LRH "birthday game" is taken quite seriously, it gives an award to the organizations that had the highest percentage increase in their statistics since last year. It is considered out-ethics (a sin) to be downstat, and it can result in losing privileges/timeoff, and getting into trouble with higher-ups or the ethics department. Causing mass down-statistics is a good way to get the attention of the higher ups. It is usually fairly frantic on a Thursday before 2pm as everyone is trying to get their stats up. So Thursday before 2pm is the best time to do an IRL DoS attack, especially wasting the time of the sales / registrar department (money-in is an important stat).
- This strategy seems quite viable. We should look into which networks are used for this process.
If you are planning on doing a protest, lunch-time is at 1pm-2pm, and dinner is from 6pm-7pm. Protests trying to get the attention of members should be timed for these times, otherwise you will only get the attention of a few staff members (everyone else is likely in the course room).
[edit] College Campus Focus
Combining many of the aforementioned ideas: perhaps all college anon can post many, many, many copies of the various Project Chanology-related materials all over their campuses. Flyers, stickers, advertisements for future action, anything with any link to any of the many sites that can inform college campuses. This would have to be done at late night or early morning, and just like with our interactions with the police, it should avoid breaking any college rules. We don't want to multiply our enemies. Collegefags can be far easier to recruit for IRL actions like protests and online activities against the Co$. I mean, these are people with tons of free time, mostly smart (well, not exactly true), they want to feel important, and with war protesting out of style and with Sudan a lost cause this could be the perfect thing for all those would-be-activists. And people who find this shit hilarious.
Another idea is for college anon to start making college-centric groups, mailing lists, other ways of disseminating information. The only problem is how to keep it anonymous for everybody, which is still important given Co$'s long history of uncovering everything about any of its critics. Create college-centric gmail accounts, tell interested people on flyers to e-mail only using hotmail, gmail or whatnot, connect to these people and get them involved. Nobody defends Scientology-everyone has seen the South Park episode. They just need people to show them how to act against this bullshit. We are the way.
Again, don't multiply our enemies. Don't tape flyers in the wrong places or make it seem we are anti-religious or that we are the dreaded internet hate machine-just like 4/12, aim for the human element on campuses. Co$ has destroyed so many lives (www.whyaretheydead.net) this is pretty easy to do. If that doesn't work, refer to South Park or to Tom Cruise. Everybody knows about those. Get the collegefags. For great justice.
[edit] Scientologist Front Groups
One of the primary problems with confronting Scientologist organizations, is that many front groups have been formed to mask their agenda. Revealing this groups as a scientologist related group may cause them to lose the air of legitimacy or supposed 'un-biased' state. They serve as recruiting tools often without any obvious links to the main group.
Here is a list of known Front Groups thanks to wikipedia
ABLE, Association for Better Living and Education – Umbrella group for Applied Scholastics, Criminon, Narconon, The Way of Happiness Foundation.
Applied Scholastics – educational programs based on Scientology teachings and techniques. Aimed at recruiting children. (HATE!!!!)
CBLA, Concerned Businessmen's Association of America - Scientology business courses on using their doctrines in the workplace
Criminon - Criminal rehabilitation program, used as a recruitment tool in jails
Downtown Medical - Used saunas, oils, and other crap to treat 9/11 workers who were/are suffering from chronic respiratory ailments (damn)
Citizens Commission on Human Rights - front group for Anti-psychiatry propaganda
Narconon – Drug treatment group, using highly speculative methods – used as recruitment tool
The Way of Happiness Foundation – pamphlet group for the ‘moral code’ promoted by hubbard. The reason Coca-Cola pulled its sponsorship was because this group falsely held itself out to be secular. Simple but major recruiting tool.
OCA/APA - Oxford Capacity Analysis / American Personality Anaylsis- personality test group. Uses the name ‘oxford’ to gain credence.
Volunteer Ministers – (ok this group makes me fucking sick) They show up at recent disasters, such as 9/11, the July 7th London bombings, the Pakistan earthquake, Katrina, Virginia Tech, w/e. They target emergency workers, and victim’s families and uses their ‘tech’ to comfort people and spread the word of scientologists.
This is a list of KNOWN front groups for Scientology. Research into hidden ones is key. Find the link, reveal it, shut it down. Easy as pie.
We need to compile a list of these groups, prevent them from getting a foothold in our towns, businesses and schools. Write to your school district and warn them about the dangers of Applied Scholastic. If you find your place of business using the CBLA, warn your associates about it.
Remember, Know Your Enemy.
[edit] Stress Test Lulz
As proven by various YTMND users, the E-meter device is a load of, with lack of a more intelligent sounding word, utter bullshit. You simply Squeeze the cans to make the stress levels go up, and gently release to make them go down. This can seriously screw with the Auditor, making him or her doubt their own technology. This can be applied in numerous ways:
When they ask you to envision something stressful, do, but ease your grip on the cans. This will probably get a "Wtf" look out of the auditor. And he/she will probably press some buttons and move some switches with a puzzled look on his/her face. When they ask a Non-stressful question, such as "What makes you happy" START THE DEATH GRIP and watch their face light up with "OH MY GOD YOU ARE SO STRESSED". Lather, rinse repeat until they are speechless and knocking on the machine puzzledly.
Or
With every single question, Keep a light grip. This may make you a holy, stressless being in their eyes. They will continually increase the gain, and look very confused. This is somewhat difficult to do.
Or
Squeeze and release quickly, This is known as a ROCKSLAM. It means you are evil as HELL. Xenu incarnate.

With every question HOLD IT IN A DEATH GRIP. They may think that you are so evil you could only be the reincarnation of Xenu himself. Beware of blasters. Has never been attempted.
OR
Prepare your hands with a commercial 'liquid glove'. The good ones dry clear or very close to clear and should only be noticed on close inspection. These products contain silicone which will GREATLY reduce the conductivity of your skin. Indeed, doing a stress-test in this manner should automatically make you a 'Clear'! For even moar fun you may wish to mention that when you were in grade school you were able to successfully influence coin tosses and other games of random chance. At this time the Auditor will have to conclude that you're an OPERATING THEATAN (ZOMG!!11!!) When pulling this prank enter the local Org well dressed, you want to look like someone who has money, someone the Auditor will recieve praise for recruiting. This type of distraction (i.e. well groomed, suit, tie, overcoat) will allow you to remove your leather gloves just before the auditing is to begin. The auditor will have no chance to see any coating on your hands. Should any casual talk of stress come up you may want to mention how your company is expecting you to close a giant business deal, or some such nonsense, this plants a seed in the Auditors mind that you could be a parishoner who will spend BIG money. The Auditor will only be thinking of your cash and how 'UPSTAT' he or she will be when they recruit you. At the conclusion of the session the Auditor may actually want to see your hands (After all you're an OT without even trying and you don't look like Tom Cruise so WTF is going on here?!) At this time you are already putting your gloves back on and talking about how you have to meet a colleague or you're feigning indignity at being asked such a thing.
OR
run a small wire under the liquid gloves to a large battery concealed in your jacket. When you grip to complete the circuit blow the back out of their E-Meter and watch their eyeballs go wide. Stand and proclaim. "I AM LORD XENU HERE TO DESTROY YOU!"

I took the Stress Test a few years ago. For each question they asked, I gave an answer that led back to how horrible my sister's childhood pet, a cockatiel, had been to me. I gave them the impression that I felt the bird had gotten me fired from each job from which I was fired, that the memory of the bird haunted me so that I had to quit the remaining jobs, that every time I felt nauseous or had a cold or flu was accompanied by the scent of discarded feathers and bird poop, and that, finally, I was terrified of pigeons because they all seemed to be "turning into cockatiels" to me.
I got the exact same robotic body language and smooth-brained, taxidermists' glass-eyed stare as the old lady in front of me whose big problems were paralyzing arthritis, and having been raped twice by an assistant butcher, once at the age of 11 years, and again at the age of 12, and never having told a soul until then.
Do you want to know what the scifags prescribed FOR BOTH OF US? That's right. "Buy a copy of this book. The author, L. Ron Hubbard, really knew his stuff. Also, the first auditing -- that's our mind-science helper -- is free if you present your reciept for the book!!!" Cheery smiles and "Next!!!" Like they're PEZ dispensers with books instead of PEZ in their necks...
[edit] Infiltration

Every spy we gain is a member-fee that CoS gains. Spies will need to be well funded and highly purposeful members of our organization. However, we are anonymous, and many of our members are protected by the 5th. Any private investigators able to suggest methods of information extraction? Any lawyers able to cite precedent for online protest law? There is an anon on the IRC who is the son of a PI. He might know something. Inquire _Nami_.
Sun Tzu says that the first spy we must procure is the "doomed spy;" the turncoat; the double-agent. "Lavish them with gifts!" He says. Let the turncoats who provably aid our cause immortalize their names here, so that we may anonymously lavish them with gifts of thanks for helping free their brothers from wretched tyranny. Such will be the mass's answer to the seductive aristocracy. Additionally, you should check with your local courts to see if anonymous donations are tax deductible. These turncoats MUST be uniquely worthy of this gift, or we will only end up funding the enemy. As a result, the spy is "doomed" to remain an individual, and will never be Anonymous.
Okay, listen up: if you give anyone a 'gift' who performs a service for you, the feds consider that to be income for a performed service (how the CoS gets away with making people pay for things that they call 'donations', I don't know, moar info plz, maybe some of you legal people can poke into it); however, a 'gift' for the hell of it can be excluded from taxes. This is a huge legal grey area, depending on which judge you get if you get caught -- if it comes out that 'gifts' were used as payment for a spy, the judge could term it 'payment for services rendered' and make you pay it. TL;DR: Consult a lawyer/accountant to make sure you're doing all this properly. Good luck to any double-agents, don't let them brainwash you!
I'm the guy that posted above. Call me spyfag1. I will require legal council before I continue infiltrating, but I've already gone as far as asking for basic information, out of curiosity, on my own time. I held their metal dongles while their machine made machine-like noises at precisely 22.2 Khz - mono. I spend much of my time as a student of economics studying philosophy - including religions - but CoS is very very good at keeping information hidden. Any info that Anon can provide would be helpful. We need an "about Scientology" wiki. Informing the public (and me) is a way of increasing the power of our weapon AND undermine them at the same time.
Also, the very concept of infiltration into the Co$ would keep the group paranoid. Imagine signs in front of CoS churches (possibly even modeled after scientology-style "orders") that warn all auditors of the dangers of anonymous SP's infiltrating the orgs and stealing scientology secrets. While this may seem counterintuitive at first, imagine the worry and paranoia we could inspire in their ranks. Best case scenario, their recruiting effectiveness plummets and new potential converts are turned away out of fear that the soon-to-be member isn't what they seem. this may make it more difficult for those planning to become double-agents, yet proving their "loyalty" in the face of such a threat could enable more trust by their would-be superiors.
The e-meter is actually a primitive lie detector, so other techniques to fool lie detectors can also help here. Common techniques involve focusing on a positive thought or memory when asked a negative question (and vice versa). Also, establishing a deceptive baseline can help - have "extreme" (in grip, thoughts, heartbeat, etc) reactions to the simple introductory questions and this will set you up to make further reactions cloudy.
Anybody who wishes to infiltrate CoS must either have a clean criminal record and/or be prepared to have embarrassing secrets exposed. Scientologists are known to dig around for any dirt they can find on potential and current "SP's." And if they can't find anything, they aren't exactly above making stuff up (see Operation Freakout, in which an author was framed for making bomb threats).
Scientology leaders are also known for spying on people they think are up to no good. Try to use pay phones or other methods of communication that can't be tapped when attempting to reach outsiders. Avoid email and snail mail unless security can be absolutely assured. Practice alibis for when you get questioned and/or caught.
Most importantly, make certain you have strong support of friends and family outside the "church" to help you when the spying, questioning, and harassment starts getting the best of you. The last thing we want is another person bullied into Scientology's ranks.

I would be only too glad to do a bit of this. I have already visited the Org in NYC (near the Metropolitan Museum -- I had to pee, and I figured a cult wouldn't mind my peeing there if I talked to them). They purposely have loud, obvious conversations about UFOs and how they're "total bullshit that only a crazy person would believe in" right in front of you so they can weed out SP's. I'd be glad to go back. They show an interview with L. Ron and this British journalist. Hubbard's office decor in the video is... Well, for something paid for with some poor schmuck's dying dollar, it's certainly not acceptable in the least. But the Org has great decor and a bust of LRon that looks a lot like Ray Bradbury.
- this guy gave up trying to infiltrate after just 11 days: http://www.hollywoodinterrupted.com/archives/ebner_undercover_scientology_spy_magazine_1996.phtml
>Annie Omnes writes:
Yeah, I saw that back when it first came out (I had a subscription to SPY and was a finalist for their internship when I was in college). He approached the whole thing wrong and was easily recognized as a reporter for the questions he asked. Also, SPY was a tiny little publication with practically no friends (it had the flavor of a tabloid plus one of the less-illegal chans plus Anonymous plus a hefty helping of Something awful, but all done in the manner of those old classic Hollywood reporter/press agent movies like _The Front Page_, _The Bad and the Beautiful_, and _The Philadelphia Story_. The last of the three is where the name "SPY" came from: It was the tabloid/gossip rag for which the protagonist worked.) At any rate, Ebner had no budget, was on a two-month deadline, and knew he wasn't getting comped by his employer for anything. He did a remarkable job given the time allotted, but part of how the scilons do what they do is that they gather your personal information, then make you buy enlightenment in few-and-far-between installments, which makes magazine infiltration costly and therefore unworkable.
The article did, however, introduce me to the foibles and horrors of the CoS, so I owe it a great debt of moral gratitude.
[edit] Electronic Warfare
[edit] Automated Simple Circuits
The developement of simple circuits using cheap mats bought from RadioShack that would perform random voice calls with a simple sound file or a fax dialer following the same principle, saved into ROM. Such cheap plugin circuits could be left at random institutions or businesses (ie. coffee shops) and perform simgle calls over intervals (~[5-10] 20 second calls an hour) inorder to reduce detectability. If these are widely distributed, the sum would cause a regular automated congestion on their lines, and this at little expense and minimal traceability.
It would be important to start looking into infiltrating Scientology's central networks and servers in order to datamine sensitive information. Gaining access to associated businesses, email servers and transaction information would be prime targets.
Any information into what software or systems they are running so that we may blackbox it is imperative at this point.
- Hackers, coordinate on Chanology Hacks. This is for penetration and acquisition of sensitive documents or causing long-term chaos - not merely DDoSing.
- DDoSers, stop DDoSing so hackers can get information.
- You should coordinate elsewhere private. Scis are almost certainly watching the public Chanology Hacks page.
[edit] Early Imunization
While the above infiltration of electronic systems would be helpful it would not be easily or legally obtained. However making attempts to acquire the lists of church members might prove less sticky to get. Find the youngest, newest, and most impressionable members and begin a campaign of counter Scientology propaganda against them.
[edit] Mass Emailing
Need I say more?
Yes! Two main targets can be reached through the effective use of e-mail.
1)Stop them being able to communicate - Tie up all e-mail recruitment pipes so that no one can contact them and start the path to brainwashing and tie up all internal coms so that they can't talk to each other. This is best done with confusion, spam, xenu and spoofed e-mails (from one org to the other)
2)Deprogram - Find a target, have a chat and make sure they are aware of all the evils of CoS. Some useful things i like, set up an e-mail account using the name of someone scientology killed, or a scientologist the internet has a grudge against, etc then when they google the person EPIC LULZ. Lead them into it slowly, at first act like you're interested in whatever they do then slowly build up to debating the truth.
[edit] The Law is on Their Side, but not Everywhere
This doesn't make them right. Scientology has been denied tax exempt status in many nations including Belgium, Russia, Canada, Greece, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. See the related wikipedia article. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW466xcM0Yk <- The Wise Beard Guy says we need to focus on their tax exemption: contact your local congressman, senator, whitehouse etc. Find out here how we can give them Tax Rape of the highest order! http://partyvan.info/index.php/Project_Chanology/Tax_Raep
[edit] Support and Publicize Scientology's Victims
A big problem right now is Scientology's suppression organization. It is essential that we form a support organization to help those that Scientology goes after. We need to make it safe for those who criticize Scientology to continue doing so.
We all know CoS has a large legal team, so it's important for us to focus on small battles at first. CoS routinely goes after small fish in the sea in an effort to protect their organization. If we form a support structure to defend these individuals, we can chew at CoS's resources and win easy victories.
CoS routinely engages in behavior which is considered harassment under US law. It would be easy for us to fund a small legal battle which could in turn fund a chain of further civil lawsuits against CoS. This could be comparable to how big tobacco was taken down.
[edit] Find Public Figures
As the movement begins to mature, it'll be necessary to find people who are willing to publicly stand up to Scientology. Preferably, these will be from those who have already spoken out (professors, lawyers, funny assholes like Howard Stern oh wait thats not very mature etc). This is necessary in order to legitimize the movement.
There are already many public figures and groups that should be considered allies. Anon should reach out to them, explain what's going on and how each could assist the other. Anon could be an important source of support for public facing groups, helping to raise funds, publicize events, get media attention, do research or surveillance, or offer technical support. In return the groups can offer Anon another avenue to the media, public and current and ex scientologists that may be more approachable for some.
There should at least be a list.
